About Me
My Story
Hello, my name is Andelynn. I have been a birth doula for four years. I began supporting laboring mothers in the winter of 2021 and quickly felt this was my calling in life. This calling was reaffirmed after I gave birth to my own baby in the summer of 2023. My beautiful baby boy provides me with so much joy, and every time I remember his birth I remember the loving hands that attended me and how much strength and reassurance I felt from them. I truly felt the value of a birth doula attendant, and am honored to offer those same feelings of strength and courage to laboring mothers moving forward with the deep knowledge of what birth is.
I am a believer in natural medicines and techniques, though I support modern western medicine and the advancements they have brought to the world as well. As such, I am happy to provide my services to all birthing environments. Whether it be a hospital birth, home birth, or at a birthing center.
I enjoy practicing yoga, traveling around the world, relaxing at home with my family, and cooking nutritious meals to share with all those I love.
My Philosophy
Everyone is different. Every mother is different. Therefore, every birth is different. I believe the one who knows what health care decisions should be made for the best birth experience, is the mother themselves.
Birth is a powerful time. This isn’t just a birth for the baby, but a birth into parenthood as well. Both baby and parents are novices in these roles. Even if the parents have kids already, they may be becoming parents of two or more children. That is a new balancing act not like the first.
Recognizing this and respecting this journey for those involved is what I believe in. Empowering the mother. Empowering the partner. Assisting to receive the desired birth whenever possible.
